PlaNet Guarantee is the unit of the PlaNet Finance Group dedicated to the promotion and development of microinsurance. Its objective is to enable the populations, which usually do not have access to traditional insurance systems, and which do not benefit from social protection mechanisms, to protect themselves against different risks (health, natural catastrophes…).

PlaNet Guarantee’s mission is to propose sustainable microinsurance solutions to its beneficiaries, the low-income people. In order to achieve its objective, PlaNet Guarantee works closely with microfinance institutions to provide them with viable and simple microinsurance systems. Microfinance institutions have a strong presence on the field and maintain a continuous contact with the targeted population. As such, they are an efficient vector for the dissemination of microinsurance products, and for the building of the knowledge of the population on microinsurance concepts and mechanisms.

As an intermediary regulated in accordance with the European legislation, PlaNet Guarantee is committed to the promotion of microinsurance at different levels:

• Market studies on microinsurance needs and offer
• Training, awareness raising, and knowledge building
• Prevention studies and risk analysis
• Design, negotiation of insurance products with insurance and reinsurance companies
• Management of subscriptions (adhesion management, risks acceptance, claim and due management), and of provisions (estimation and settlement of losses, appeal management)
• Study and setting up of international « pooling »
• Study and management of reinsurance programs.
